I have always been in sales and account management. I just love meeting new people and talking, so being in sales is perfect for me! The main part of my career was in media sales but I have been at Carmel Jane Photography for a year now and it is the best decision I have ever made.

The company has quite a unique corporate culture that is so dedicated to quality and so friendly and flexible with times if I need it. Since I have have been there we have had a 400% increase in the number of schools we photograph, so it is all going very well.

Carmel Jane Photography offer high quality school, dance school and commercial photography. We are the largest dance school photographers in the South East and are rapidly disrupting the school photography market. I concentrate on the schools market and am so proud of the service we offer, the photos just sell themselves. Schools are notoriously resistant to change, but we I explain out commitment to quality and importantly to making the students feel comfortable with the photographer and proud of the photos we produce, schools really want to experience the CJP philosophy.

With a team of qualified photographers, our commercial branch of the company is rapidly expanding. Headshots are what we are most know for but we have many product clients and do a lot of website photography too.

There is a general feeling that school photography has become a ‘race to the bottom’, with companies offering cheaper photography and higher commissions to schools. Here at Carmel Jane Photography we want to position ourselves as the best quality, not the cheapest. Not only do we provide stunning photos for the parents, but also an efficient, friendly and professional service to the school, helping the schools to make the photography as easy as possible.

We are nearly an all-woman team and everyone on the team is dedicated to creating photos that make people feel good. Our company culture is all about communication, collaboration and empowerment, the staff are so happy they are natural ambassadors for the company. Carmel personally trains all of the photographers and we have a regular feedback and training sessions, so the photographers are on a continuous improvement plan.

Cheap is not always the best. We live in a visual culture and we are expecting a much higher standard of photos. There are so many photographers competing on price but for something as important as the memories of photos for children or to promote your business brand, it is best to choose a professional with a proven track record and a portfolio that has a depth of quality.

EBN is the most friendly and effective networking group I have been to. It has a real community feel with members wanting to help each other without feeling pressured to help. The connections and leads I have had locally have more than paid for the joining fee. And it is a great way to have a laugh and start my Tuesday mornings.  Mandy Baker is a wonderful host who manages the meetings with a natural lightness but still keeps us on track!

The talking never stops! I love going out and meeting up with friends, I am a such an extrovert. I have twins who are 21 years old now and we are the best of friends, they keep me young at heart.
